VOLATILITY OF LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GASES

ASTM D1837 - ISO 6620 - NFM 41012

This test method is a measure of the relative purity of the various types of liquefied petroleum (LP) gases and helps to ensure suitable volatility performance.

Covers the determination of an approximate measure of the amount of higher boiling constituents present in the various type of liquefied petroleum gases.

The test results, when properly related to the observed vapour pressures and gravities of products, can be used to indicate the approximate concentration of butane in the propane type liquefied petroleum gas, and pentanes in the propane - butane mixtures and butane types of liquefied petroleum gas
